Fun first, accuracy later .....
Destroyer Command is like a blank canvas for the creation of any game involving ironclad warships in the age of the gun ( 1860 - 1945 ). In many ways it can looked at as a "ready to go" game engine, albeit with the restrictions that the existing code imposes.
The first objective of this project is to introduce "place holder" art assets as quickly and simply as possible. This makes it possible to have a playable game which reproduces the look and feel of of WW1, up and running from a fairly early stage . Each of these "first phase" assets will be marked as version 1.0.
These version 1.0 place holder assets are then open to gradual replacement by more refined and accurate art assets, when and where the opportunity presents itself.
