Welcome to the Iron Seas newspage
April 2008
Aircraft ( ShortFolder, Short184, Rumpler,Sopwith Baby and Gotha ) and aircraft tenders ( Engadine and Ark Royal) have received a lot of attention this month. Contributions from Brooks and CB.
March 2008
Brooks has released some early versions of Humber Class Monitor, HMS Hector (balloon ship), and SMS Konigsberg . For beginners he has also added tutorials for geginners hoping to tackle 3D models .
Experiments with land targets such as artillery parks.
The Port modelling has taken a new turn. Instead of modelling small components to add to the existing DC terrain it seems prefereable to construct a whole model including the land mass. This makes it possible to offset the port from DC's terrain and allows inclusion of inland water channels ( such as Nieuport, Ostend and Zeebrugge )
A new water mod by CB has been added.
February 2008
Brooks Martin from Boseman Colorado ( beautiful part of the world ) has come on board to make contributions. His main area of interest is the "minor" theatres outside of the North Sea. He's particularly interested in the Konigsberg incident in East Africa and is modelling both the SMS Konigsberg and Humber class monitors sent to deal with it.
December 2007
Experimenting with a 3D model view for station positions
November 2007

March 2007
There is sufficient evidence that DC/SH2 can be an effective platform for a complete game makeover so work begins in ernest. It seems that the DC game engine has the capacity to handle a lot more detailed artwork in the models and textures than the original Dev team were briefed to deliver. Possibly the lesser powered machines of circa 2002 were at least partly responsible for this
August 2006
Exploring the Iron Seas concept. Assessing DC/SH2 for suitability and creating some concept art. Reviewing much of the work of other modders.
